By IIDEA is excited to announce the fifth edition of First Playable, the leading
business event dedicated to video game development in Italy, organized by IIDEA and Toscana Film
Commission – Fondazione Sistema Toscana, in collaboration with the ICE Agency. This year the event
will take place, as usual, in the first week of July, on Thursday, July 6 and Friday, July 7.
The big news this year is that the event will move to Florence, hosted by Nana Bianca, a startup studio
and vertical accelerator in the digital sector, inside the Innovation Center of Fondazione CR Firenze, in the
central San Frediano district.
First Playable, which has now become a landmark event for those involved in game production
in our country, has as its main objective to facilitate connections between local developers and
international publishers and investors. The spaces animated by Nana Bianca, in which the historical soul of the
Florentine urban fabric, the drive for innovation through cooperation and the vocation to
accompanying companies into the future, represent the ideal setting for the event.
Coaching sessions are planned during the two-day First Playable, useful especially for developers
younger ones to have a confrontation with experts in the field; talks and workshops with Italian and international guests
high-profile; and, the most important part of the event, 1:1 meetings with publishers and investors from
from around the world aimed at sharing pitches of new projects. The initiative is free to attend
for Italian game developers.
First Playable, moreover, is also the ideal time to celebrate the talent and creativity of developers of
Italian video games. On the evening of July 6, the 11th edition of the Italian
Video Games Awards, where an international Jury composed of industry experts will declare the winners
in the five award categories:
● Best Italian Game: award for the best Italian video game.
● Best Italian Debut Game: award for the best Italian first work.
● Best Innovation: award for the most innovative Italian video game
● Outstanding Individual Contribution: award to the individual Italian professional who has most
distinguished on a national and/or international level
● Outstanding Italian Company: award for the Italian development studio that has most distinguished itself
nationally and/or internationally
